Vitamin D3 is derived from the oil of sheep's wool, collected during sheering. It is rapidly converted in the body to the active form 1,25 dihydrocholecalciferol. Adequate 1,25 (OH) D is responsible for proper bone growth and metabolism, muscle function and in higher doses,cell differentiation.
